A Scale for weighing pythons

Greg_Haugen Jun 10, 2007 06:16 PM

I'm looking for recommendations on a supplier for a scale to weigh my pythons in grams. Any help in finding one??

One other quick question, what is the recommended weight and age for a female to be bred?

Thanks for your time,
Greg

This is the one I bought:

And as for the breeding question, minimum weight should be 1500g and minimum age 2 years (3 preferred).

I found mine on Ebay for $1, and then it was $9 for shipping. Goes up to 35# and converts to grams as well.

If I were you I'd check out LLL Reptile's website at
http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/reptile-husbandry-tools/-/7001-dx-digital-compact-scale/
They have a 7KG scale that only runs $50.

As for the recommended weight for breeding female balls, a lot of people like to say it's 1000g but I've never bred one that small and had it be successful. I upped it to 1400-1500g minimum and have had much better success.

Hope this helps J
