OT: chris cornell van halen=?

i was just thinking that's all.

imo, he does better with a band then when he is solo. vh is a good band.

they definitely need a legitimate singer with some pipes to give them a missing edge and a recording contract. cornell would shred their entire catalog and get another two-three pounding discs out before eddie kicks over.

i don't think the pairing will happen, but it would be interesting.

cornell will keep on going while van halen will be playing free concerts at the state fair.

opinions?

Dave, that would be very interesting!!

Although I dont' own anything by Cornell, he would be a good choice as a candidate for the VH vocal spot. He is a very good singer, IMO, and would do the older VH songs justice. Eddie Van Halen himself is still, IMO, one of rock's best guitarests of all time. A style all his own.

VH though seems to be just very strange, in the sense of never getting on and moving forward. Also, Michael Anthony is gone, and Eddie's son Wolfgang is now their new bassist. I hear he is good, so we shall see.

I have no idea however if David Lee Roth can still sing or not, and Sammy Hagar is not on good terms, from what I can remember, so no chance of any reunion going on with either of those pairings. DLR was reported to be back with them and a tour was in the works but that was all canceled, according to what I read online.

Cornell seems like a good choice. Very interesting point!

Iron Maiden has yet to let me down yet in their recent cds, which contain some very strong songs. They are not over yet.

SOMEBODY GIVE ME A SHOT!!
Long time EVH fan, I have seen them a bunch of times. I even own a Kramer Ripley stereo guitar like the one used on the 5150 album (pan pot for each string woo hoo!)
What’s going on with that guy? Who knows... He use to talk about his singers getting LSD (lead singers disease) but how do you explain having no material, no band, no nothing to show after toiling away in a home studio every day for how many years now? I don’t even know who that singer is, but I wish they’d get something going and “play out”. There’s no addiction like the rush of that crowd. I think the Dave thing is ancient history, let it go. That was my wasted youth right there! I hope we can see him play, there’s a whole generation out there that don’t know about actually playing an instrument. All these bands today have some guy playing behind a curtain. Nothing like seeing two hours live- no overdubs, to appreciate what that guy can do. It’s a privilege that would be a shame if it’s not seen again.
