Dave, that would be very interesting!!
Although I dont' own anything by Cornell, he would be a good choice as a candidate for the VH vocal spot. He is a very good singer, IMO, and would do the older VH songs justice. Eddie Van Halen himself is still, IMO, one of rock's best guitarests of all time. A style all his own.
VH though seems to be just very strange, in the sense of never getting on and moving forward. Also, Michael Anthony is gone, and Eddie's son Wolfgang is now their new bassist. I hear he is good, so we shall see.
I have no idea however if David Lee Roth can still sing or not, and Sammy Hagar is not on good terms, from what I can remember, so no chance of any reunion going on with either of those pairings. DLR was reported to be back with them and a tour was in the works but that was all canceled, according to what I read online.
Cornell seems like a good choice. Very interesting point!
Iron Maiden has yet to let me down yet in their recent cds, which contain some very strong songs. They are not over yet.
