i ordered for the first time after looking around and rodent pro won, when i got the order it was well insulated, with clean rodents to boot, will not hesitate to go there again. Good for my first choice. The feeders come in ziplock bags and it works for me as i can then seperate them into groups and refreeze them in vacuum sealer bags so also worked out there as well.

35$ shipping for 5 large rats??? is that how it is everywhere, i cant justify spending that much ill have to take a trip to a convention i gues.

It's expensive to ship them, special shipping box, dry ice and overnight shipping. That's a per box chargem wether full or half empty. Don't remember which but some sites will tell you how full the box is and you can adjust your order to maximize content.

Well, it's never worthwhile to order only 5 rats to be shipped. If you place an online order for frozen feeders you need to buy in bulk.

Anyone you go to is going to have a high shipping cost. Overnight shipping is expensive.

If you don't want to buy a lot of frozen feeders that way, then find a local source. Reptile shows are usually a good source for frozen or live feeders in any quantity.

That's why people go through the steps raising them, and provide for their needs, because it's saving them $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I have a large reptile collection and even at low wholesale prices from a local breeder, I could easily spend over $100 a week on feeders. That's not including food for the baby snakes! Retail as in from a store ugh, don't even want to think about it but probably 2X to 3X that amount. For my rodent colony, I've spent give or take $100/month to maintain the colony over the last year.

so, 52 x 100 = $5200
and 12 x 100 = $1200

which means I saved $4000 dollars on feeders in one year.
