Morphs...

Venom_Within Jun 10, 2007 10:39 PM

I'm only posting this for my own peace of mind. As far as color, there are 7 basic traits, correct?

those affecting black:
1. Amel
2. Hypo

those affecting red:
A. Anery A
B. Charcoal
C. Caramel
D. Lavender

and kinda overall:
*. Bloodred

Now Amel seems to mask Hypo, right? And for red, Lavender masks Charcoal which masks Anery A which masks Caramel, right? I believe those are in order of strongest to weakest, meaning Lavender masks all, and Caramel is masked by all etc. And Bloodred can accompany ANY of the first six.

That makes only 14 distinguishable double homozygous recessive combos, correct?

1A - Snow
1B - Blizzard
1C - Butter
1D - Opal
1* - Bloodred Amel
2A - Ghost
2B - Phantom
2C - Amber
2D - Hypo Lavender
2* - Bloodred Hypo
A* - Granite
B* - Pewter
C* - Bloodred Lavender
D* - Bloodred Caramel

And 8 logical triple homozygous recessive combos:

1A* - Avalanche
1B* - Bloodred Blizzard
1C* - Sulfur
1D* - Bloodred Opal
2A* - Hypo Granite
2B* - Hypo Pewter
2C* - Bloodred Amber
2D* - Bloodred Hypo Lavender

Does anyone know of the trade names for the 11 combos marked with a " "?

I'm just trying to get my info straightened out here. I purposely ignored Creamsicle, ultra, the various other amels, and pattern morphs for simplicity since each of those can also be combined with each of the morphs listed.

Wow, this can be a little overwhelming! Hopefully I did my calculations right as well as my hunting down of names...

Sorry, it too out the plus signs I used to mark the ones I was unsure of. The 11 combos with more than one word in the name are the ones in question...

Well, right off the top of my head bloodred amel is fire, and bloodred lavender is plasma. Also you have the combo of lava anery, with the trade name of ice.

There are at least a few more that are new(er) such as lava and "morph Z" which I believe are both forms of hypomelanism. I am actually surprised that you don't see more lavas. They are VERY attractive. Anyone have lava pics to post?

I'd be interested in knowing that - sometimes what one thinks might mask something else doesn't. Not sure if that is the case with corns or not.

There are also at least 3 different types of hypo.
1. Hypo A - Rosy
2. Hypo B - Sunkissed
3. Hypo C - Lava

then there is Ultra, but I think that has Ratsnake mixed in.
