Very common in BRB's to have multiple sheds. If she's plump and been layin in wierd positions, not eating much if anything. She is most likely gravid. The wait sucks huh??

the wait is killing me lol. Like I have said in past this is my first year with boas im used to the corns and pythons where it is copulation, ovulation, shed then babies i have everyone of my snakes down to a two day lay date lol this whole rainbow boa thing i think im gonna go nuts it will all be worth it in the end. I just got a little confused with this shed lol man i think i will die when i breed my poss super hypo harlequin to my hypo arabesque next season.

Thank you dave i knew you would eas my mind a lil or atleast post some pics of your gravid girls laying to make me jelous lol

LOL, I wear grooves in the floor with all my checking. And after years of breeding, I still don't
have a "due date" for any of them. Mike posted a thread a while back postulating there may be a
"POS plus X days" timing for BRB's similar to Boas. I had already been gathering info from my
breeders this year to see if I could nail that down. So, maybe after this season we'll have some
way to determine a "due date".

Pix you said

Daisey looks soooooo hot!!

And one of my favorite pics of Amber, sorry for the "super size"

Haha, I hope you are just kidding. If you honestly knew from looking at the picture I would be amazed.

rainbowsrus Jun 11, 2007 12:56 PM

I have done that before....once! Gone back to first litter pix and found a specific individual.....

This was the first pic I have showing Amber on 08/26/2005, not very clear but you can see Savannah around the water bowl and many of her babies crawling around. Amber is the one on the right side down on the newspaper.

Pic #2 shows Amber much clearer, you can really see her lack of crescents

A cropped closeup of just her from pic 2

When I was putting the individual babies into their own tubs, I saw her and thought "wow, what do we have here?" I had to take a couple of pics right away. You can see she still has her umbilical. Of course I gave her card number 1 from her litter - SA-PO-01

Now it's 09/30/2005, right after her second shed and the blush in her side medalions is starting to show.

11/13/2005 Almost three months old, a week and half after third shed.

12/20/2005, outside in my cherry tree in natural light, WOW, this girl is starting to really glow. BTW, she shed just before these pics were taken.

Another pic on 12/20, inside under incandescent lighting

Two more pics on 12/20, outside again on the sidewalk one showing each side

Two pics from 06/01/2006, new pics for the website launch

07/11/2006, I took this pic with Amber, two Hypo's Dottie is more orange and Mickey is mostly toward the right, towards the left is Hook, one of my bullseyes, in the middle is Amber and toewards the right is Rose. I love this shot as it shows a LOT of variety in colors/patterns.

07/11 again, just Amber

09/04/2006, now just over a year old

11/03/2006, not a great pic but still a great subject

These last four pics are from tonight. She was definately a great choice for holding back.

Yeah, those first pix were just that, excited to see babies and gotta get some pix. I didn't notice Amber until I pulled her out and saw her side blotches. In fact it wasn't until much later (over a year) that I noticed her in those first few pix.

rainbowsrus Jun 11, 2007 04:28 PM

Thanks!!

I got an offline answer and it really does confirm my thoughts.

In BCI, where due date is 105 days after POS, THE POS can easily be defined as the first shedding after the male loses interest in the female. Some time around pre-ovulation swell and/or ovulation, the male will lose interest. Aka the female stops smelling so nice and the male stops being horny. sometime after that the female will shed and that first shed is the POS!

I asked that question because I have two females overdue with no signs of getting readyu to have babies. Maybe they didn't take?

I also have a third due Friday and she's reastless, keeps knocking over the water bowl so looking better for her!!
