I have an african sidenecked turtle, most likely it is the Pelusios subniger. I was wondering if anyone new how to sex them? Mine is about 4 inches long and has a stubby tail that just barely sticks out past its shell when you see it.
Any help/links etc would be appreciated

I think it might yet be too small to accurately sex. They seem to all have stubby tails anyway but the male's are longer. Also, the males have a deeper ventral notch that forms a more acute angle compared to the females.
