when to feed neonate IJCP?

meeslither Jun 11, 2007 02:20 PM

Ive heard that your supposed to wait till their first shed. Is this true? I just got a brand new baby that has not eaten or shed yet. Normally I would not consider buying a snake unless it had been started but I got the pick of the litter (about 15 babies total)and the breeder was very nice and said she would replace it if it died. Not to mention the entire litter was exceptionally beautiful and I like to think I can tell a healthy individual from a malformed one. Also the snake is very active, especially at night, and seems like it would eat if prey was offered. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jason

We just hatched out a clutch of Jungles, and many of them fed mutliple times before they had thier first shed, I would offer and see...worst case...it won't eat....but don't let if frustrate you, it might take a few trys...
