Rudis care

captotterboy Jun 11, 2007 02:59 PM

Anyone have a Rudis Cham care sheet? I found one that says they give live birth and can be kept in pairs......? Sooooooooo i was hoping for a little clarification.

My house seems very empty without a tree dwelling, color changing, prehensile tailed animal coming to the cage door to greet me when i get home......

So in looking for other chameleon species i found a couple that looked interesting. If anyone has any info on these i would love to hear:

WC Meller's Big boogers are really neat looking. I heard they have difficult care requirements. Anyone?

furcifer minor. I found one care sheet at chameleonnews but only that one. anyone?

There is an entire website and Yahoo! forum devoted to melleri so you should definitely read it before deciding. Melleri are demanding in a lot of ways. Getting a healthy one (almost all are wc and can be in terrible shape), having enough space (a minimum cage would be 6'x6'x6' and some don't tolerate caging at all!), dealing with their high water demands and larger prey. The website is called The Melleri Discovery. I've kept melleri and gave them my spare bedroom as a free range area.

I don't have digital pics...no fancy camera! The Melleri Discovery and the Yahoo! melleri forum have lots of pics!

Neat site, and it did a very good job of convincing me that Mellers arnt for me. haha
I just dont have the room for one. So as cool as they are i gues its just a look but dont own sort of thing.
I did find a site for the Rudis. In talking to them, i think i may be able to provide the correct care for a pair....
