This is one of my young females in my large outdoor enclosure. I do have a question for all you collared breeding studs and studettes. She just showed her "colors" today; I was wondering if there is a time frame between showing her colors and egg laying? I really want to bring her inside before she lays ( I don't want to search a large outdoor enclosure for buried eggs ) :0)
Hi Eve; my yellers are doing real good; had a inside female lay 4 a few days ago, wooo hooo.

She looks really nice Todd. She looks huge with eggs. I would bring her in if you don't want to search the cage. I kept my aquaflames outside and my female disappeared for about 10 days. Never did find her nest or her while she was gone. She reappeared skinny. The eggs never hatched in my pen unfortunatley.

More pictures of your lizards? If that is her first clutch, you may have 15-20 days after the color as a guess. I have had them lay without and color at all though, so it is really, really hard to guess.

Mariah was eating like a horse and gaining weight for about 10 days before she showed any color. She has stopped eating and I have her in her own enclosure now. Unfortunately, she has ignored the place with the damp sand that I have in there for her and she digs elsewhere. She is hard to figure out because she spends half her waking hours digging, anyway. Hopefully when her time comes she will notice the nesting area!

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

Such a difficult subject, the general rule I think is 22 to 28 days, but my Maggie showed the palest of peaches (instead of her previous scarlet) a few days before laying her last clutch. All the others were generally 22 or 23 days, but by bringing her in now, and getting a damp lay box ready, judging by the size of her you'll know when it happens, and as long as she has everything she needs, then I guess the timing doesnt really matter

All the best with her, she looks like she is in for a massive meal once they are out, she's enormous, lol.
