My "Picky Feeder" JCP

Sasheena Aug 16, 2003 10:04 PM

Well I haven't posted here in a while. At the beginning of the summer I purchased a "picky feeder" jcp. The breeder was assist feeding her pinkies. I knew at the time that that was the biggest mistake in my purchase... other than buying a JCP without knowing the first thing about them.

Well I lucked out! The first time I offered her a mouse hopper she ate... and she's eaten for every single meal I've offered her. I haven't tried to switch her to rats or frozen thawed, but have purchased a breeding group of rats so I can start to switch her.

Today I moved her from a ten gallon to a twenty gallon tall aquarium. Decided to see if she would be interested in a larger meal than shed' been eating before. Gave her a whacked adult mouse. She didn't seem interested at first, as she's never had anything but live from me, but when I dangled it so she automatically wrapped her coils around it, she decided it was food and ate it down without a single hitch!

Anyway, I'm really happy with her, she has to be my favorite snake. She tends to hide during the day, but is always up in her branches at night.

Thought I'd share.

Glad to hear that the picky feeder is eating bigger prey. I hope you are successful with the rats.
