wow, that is pretty cool, but who would pay 300 bucks for that? Dont mean to sound rude, its cool but not that cool, plus, its underweight.

Birth defects... I do wonder though if that was caused by temp fluctuations...genetic problems or if the egg actually held twins and one twin absorbed the other leaving only the tail. Has that been documented in reptiles? I know it has in humans...and other mammals. Interesting, but not something I would or could actually sell in all good conscience if it were mine. You never know how extensive the defects are under the skin...and what you pay $200 for now.. may be dead in another week.

. . . regenerated tail.

Sometimes, when a tail gets injured at the base - and rips or almost breaks off - it will regen a new tail - even if the other one is saved.

If that's not a doctored picture, then that's exactly what happened. Pretty cool looking - but I guess I wouldn't expect that I could get hets for double tail from it. LOL.

I have seen pictures of regenerated tails that look "split" like that. It looks like an original tail, so it is probably just a freak thing. The gecko in the pic looks very thin, so I would stay away from it.

Fritz Aug 17, 2003 07:04 PM

and I emailed asking about the ad because it went on like it was the greatest thing ever.
I pretty much said i don't want to sound like an a ss but thats just a freaky regen tail and the leo looks too thin to be worth 20 bucks

lol the only reply i got was:
don't sell yourself short, you are
did you figure out the regen tail for yourself?

hahaha yeah, 300 bones for a sick misshapen leo

Sometimes when a leo regrows it's lost tail and there is a bit or debris or flesh left there it could grow two tails. It's nothing new, and certainly not worth 300 bucks...although it does look pretty cool!
