Candidate for District 53

lbenton Jun 12, 2007 10:36 AM

He is a Libertarian candidate for the district... I assume he is still running. I will send an email to him with the link to LogoJoe.com on it.

I will let you know what I hear back, but I hope this guy will jerk the rug out from under Hilderbran.

Maybe we can direct some of this billboard and bumper sticker attention his way, more of a positive campaign instead of a simple bashing...

Put light on Hilderbran's actions inside his district will hurt his re-election ideas...

If I can track down anybody else running against him I will give them the info.

I think a critical step for our hobby is getting him out of office, he demonstrated his bias and ethics to us very clearly.

Lance,

Yes, we need to find a canidate to support who is running against Hilderbran, but we need to be cautious about whom we begin supporting. Two things to consider here are this guy's platform and what he claims to represent. If his platform does include legalization of drugs and if he is a pothead he is not going to be well-received with the voters in District 53 and if we align ourselves with him they will see us in the same light that they see him in. Also, just a fact in Texas politics...unless you are running on either the Republician or Democratic ticket your chances of winning an election are pretty much nil.

Yes, we need a candidate....but is this the man we want to align ourselves with?

We do not need to support him, but we can let him know of the abuse that Hilderbran committed in office..

Just let him run with that a while, make Hilderbran have to answer for it in his district in front of his voters..

I did not know about his lets legalize drugs stand until after the fact, but we can still make all of Hilderbran's opponents informed of what we think of him.

Inform all of his opponents and constituents.

Pick One Republican AND Democrat to oppose him.

Back a Republican opponent in the primary race.

If he wins the Republican primary, throw all our support behind his Democratic opponent.
