still a remarkable find

I've seen a number T. c. carolina pics posted here, and looked through google, and I still have yet to see one like the one I called T. Herman. Has anyone else seen an eastern box like him? Honestly, I'm curious.

In southern Indiana we seen this color (yellow verses orangish) and these kinds of blothces a lot. It is not unusual for this area, but this is a very handsome fellow!

maybe it's that a lot of those in the north-western portion of their range had more of this bright yellow? I'm fairly close to you, in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan... well, not sure exacly how far from you, but the border is 1 to 2 hours away.

Oh, you said southern Indiana - you're a ways away from me. But both of us are "sorta" in the NW corner of the range of T. c. carolina.

I am in northeast pa and Yesterday I found a female laying eggs that looked just like that one. She was very pretty, I watched her lay the eggs. I left her and the eggs alone, but is very interesting.

That's unusual.... typically only males have yellow splotches that bright.... as bright as the one whose pic I posted.
