Red Belizean Litter

BOtt Jun 13, 2007 09:19 AM

Howdy everyone-

My litter of "Red" Belize boas was born last week. I'm quite happy with the results and I suspect that after they shed they will be quite attractive. I've only included two pictures, but I will definitely get more up after they shed.

Pictured is the mom with the babies-the sire is more impressive than her (there are a few shots of him on my website). I have another litter from the male to a normal Belize boa that is due in about 10 days, so that should explain what's going on.

The babies are a "purplish" color and appear to lack any true "black" coloration. I can't wait for the shed!

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on the litter Brian! They look terrific, and I can't wait to see the post-shed shots to see how purple they really are!

Keep your eyes open for some post-shed pictures. Most are in the blue so it should only be a couple of days

Nice litter Brian !! ... they probably won't have too much color until they have shed and grown a bit. Be nice to see if they have the red of the parents.

All the best with your project.

cheers, John

Thanks again everyone!

John-The original breeder of the parents said that he didn't notice that they were different for a little while. These are clearly different from a litter of normal Colombians that I had a month ago, but I'm going to hold judgement until they shed and until my litter from the normal Belize boa drops in a week or so.
