He is about 5 years old and 40 inches long, had em since he was 2 days old. He has always been very heatlhy and I've never had any problems with his health untill just tonight.
I checked on him and as I was holding him i noticed a few thing were just wrong. First he was very clamy, moist. He also had a strange sheen to him, he has always been shiney black but tonight it almost looked like a, i dont know, layer that shimmered, almost like gasoline on water. It was about that time i noticed sound like a hissing almost. Very short, fairly loud exhalation of air i suppose is the best way to describe it. I went back to his cage to inspect and i noticed a brownish substance splattered high up (bout foot and half up) on on two sides of the glass. I wiped it off with a moist towlet and noticed it had a very slight red tint to the dark brown.
His behavior seems normal, but he does seem to be taking some heavier breathes than usually, I can see him inhale and exhale through body expanditure more so than normal.
I'm really really attached to the lil guy and i cant get to a vet untill tuesday (today being saturday), let alone if i even have a vet in the location that knows anything bout snakes (live in louisiana, baton rouge, but im more than wiling to travel if need be). Maybe someone here can give me some advice.
