weird behavior....

The baby I have has been doing something strange all day that I’ve never encountered before and I’m worried…When she walks she’s very wobbly and doesn’t seem sure footed. When she runs it’s kinda crooked almost looks like she may fall over. When she does run and stops her body shakes in kinda a side to side motion. It doesn’t seem like seizures, more like as if it’s a uncontrollable twitch or wobble.

I’ll describe what I’m doing so maybe you can help me figure out if something is wrong. Basking spot is at a 112-115 range and the cool side is around the mid 80’s or so. My dragons have been eating well on the Blatta roaches, crix, and salad and veggies. Still using the Repcal VitD w/o phosphorus for supplement and ICB Sandfire dragon ranch dust for dustings as well. I’ve been misting them daily for hydration which they lap up. Using a Reptisun 10.0. Reptile carpeting for substrate which is cleaned daily and switched with another piece. Nothing else is in the cage except for a artificial tree branch type thing for them to climb closer to the UVB which is also cleaned daily. The second dragon isn’t showing any signs of this and is eating well. The first dragon up until today hadn’t portrayed anything to worry about. Also when she goes to snatch up a roach she completely misses. So any suggestions cuz I’m a little worried. Does anyone know what may be wrong?

You have a tremendous resource. Call and talk to Vickie or Rob. In the interum I would suspect prey size. I'd consider getting small pet store crickets and feeding each one individually.

My baby went through the same thing. He got really clumsy and kept missing the crickets that we were giving him. He walked funny and would fall off sometimes while trying to get on his basking spot. We switched him to smaller crickets and started dusting for every feeding (we were just dusting once a day), and it seemed to solve his problem. The really cool thing was that it solved the problem almost immediately - - so he either just snapped out of it or the smaller crickets made a big difference!

Good luck with your baby.
