albino C. oreganus

SnakeGrrl Jun 13, 2007 11:48 PM

I just had a man bring a friend of mine (a professor at a local university) a newborn albino Crotalus oreganus that he found in his garden. Does anyone know if albino specimens of this species have been found before? I know of albino viridis and helleri, but google isn't turning up any oreganus, could this be a first? It's SUPER cute!

Having grown up in northern California, I have had quite a bit of experience with this rattlesnake...I've seen green ones, brown ones, gray ones, etc...never an albino...In fact, I've never heard of an albino oreganus...

POST SOME PICS!!!!

If i do recall correctly there have been others found. Unfortunately they dont end up in the hands of people who can work on reproducing them.
