AUTUMN GLOSS - a new morph from Africa??

yacoosa Jun 14, 2007 02:32 AM

Hi,

please have a look at this female ball python. It hatched this year in Africa and was exported to Germany. They call it AUTUMN GLOSS. I want to know what you guys think of this (unproven?) morph. In my opinion it looks similar to the CLOWN MATRIX from Ben Siegel Reptiles inc. (http://www.albinonile.com/id14.html).

Have you ever seen such an animal?
Do you think it is genetic?
What would you pay for it?

Best regards and greetings

Björn

I have seen a lot of animals that are close to the same thing but they all vary a bit. Here is one that I have that has similar characteristics...

Ben's animal has some head pattern and color differences that really set it apart from alot of animals like it. Much like the Clown itself.

There has been a lot of snakes similar to that one that have been popping up more frequently. I have not heard of any being genetic so far... maybe they just havint been breed yet... time will tell....

The name sounds like a paint color!

Sounds like a shade of lipstick or finger nail pollish

It seems like alot / most / all?? - of the new morphs that are comming from Africa the last year or two have been variations on already proven genetics. I would guess that hets or co-doms for existing traits are just popping up every so often.

That is truely a stunning animal, but I have seen that patter and similar ones to it before - more than once.

I love the brown patterned snakes, far more than the white and silver type.

Beautiful.

Thank you for your opinions.

I just don´t want to discuss about the name, bacaue I did not make it.

Here is a picture of the head and the belly.

Please let me know, what such snakes go for, where can I find similar balls and if you think if this one could be genetic.

Many thanks

Looks like the Aztec Ball that John Berry owns. Its been bred by a mojave this season so maybe we'll find out if its genetic.

Hope you don't mind me showing off the Aztec John.

The name is horrible, sounds like someone was trying way to hard to come up with something cool, and totally blew it!

The snake is cool! Like everyone has said, I would not say it is something new, they have been around for several years, BUT, I have never seen one that is CB, so who knows if they are genetic, breed it and let us know. The look is very nice, should make a cool Sable cross.

Very pretty snake--looks similar to the mahogany ball i posted today-does not look anything like the clown matrix though--my photography skills are the worst--I guess you kind of got to see cm in person--it is a mindblower.
