What is abundant on the moons of Jupiter has been found on the ocean floor here on Earth. Estimated that there is more of this than coal, oil, and gas....combined!!!!

Also on the Discovery Channel

The show is called : "Building The Future"

Only downside to these gas-hydrates is that they produce green house gasses like all fossil fuels! So the objective would be to trap these gasses before they reach the atmosphere.

Either way, I think its a step in the right direction, which is important!

There has been quite a bit of information on this in the science and real news sources lately. There is an enormous amount of energy down there. The problem is figuring how to get it.

Yes, your right that is another problem. Trying to get it out from the ocean floor!

But, in another light, I was watching the Science Channel here at home and I saw someting even more amazing!

Fusion Power!

Fusing atoms together to create plasma (like what is found on the sun). The best part about it is, powering a Fusion Powerplant you need Hydrogen, 100% Clean and Earth Friendly!

Another upside is, there are no side effects whatsoever, unlike Nuclear Plants that have radiation, and a reactor that could blow! Also, it is 100 times more efficent than Nuclear Power and a TRILLION times more efficent than all fossil fuels!

The scientist in charge of the operation said : "With the water it takes to fill a normal bath-tub, one man could power everything he could ever need; house, light, heat, food for 30 years."

A little science fact for everyone here :

The energy in the sun is equivalent to 77 Million atomic bombs going off EVERY SECOND. One second worth of energy from the Sun could power the entire planet for hundreds of thousand of years!

I watch those types of programs on TV, "How It's Made",being one of my favorites, the only show I watch that's not considered educational programming is called "House", yet there is some truth to the show from what I have heard. I like "House" and his analytical commentary towards the "world" around him.

Frank,
...I really like "How It's Made". I think House is terrible. The way he talks to people is disrespectful. In my hospital we do not put up with MDs who talk like that.

that could mean that an earthquake involving a specific fault, could cause a HUGE explosion that wipes out humanity, hence the sea shall give up its DEAD.

GAME OVER!

Joy to the World!!

I am such an optimist.

"How Its Made" is the greatest show ever created...well one of them. Im also real big on "Man vs Wild" and I love "Survivorman"

I got a bunch of books on surviving off the land, and building shelters and traps and finding water and such.

I see we have the same taste in TV as I watch House myself

sometimes I am in awe when I learn how tedious it could be to make a simple toothpick, I am referring to the machinery involved on the assembly line. I also like how the many parts for these devices are made. I sometimes imagine the pure genius that must be involved in the creation of some of the machines that make the actual product itself.
