Sicker and Sicker

flipdipdot Jun 14, 2007 09:28 AM

I have a gecko that had a pretty bad case of mouthrot. I was given medicine he hates, and an oral cleanser. The cleanser seemed to work really well and when I took him back in for a checkup the vet said his mouth looked great. Now it's back. Then another of my geckos got it. Now I think that the first gecko has lost sight in one eye. It looks really hazy. The 2 still aren't eating. Does anyone have ANY advice?
Thanks in advance.

DUDE!! go back to the vet! you cant treat that on your own! ive never had that problem but its serious and you need to ask your vet what causes it. go to the vet if you care for them. good luck.

If you still have meds from the vet use them. Otherwise get some more and continue to treat it. I can't be certain, but it may be too late for the one who seems to be going blind in the one eye. I truely have NO experience with mouth rot in geckos, but I lost my very first Ball Python to it many years ago. It IS a serious problem if it goes too far. Good luck.

Hi, any news on the leos? Good or bad, I'd like to know how things are going.

They're currently getting injections. Nothings really changing yet. Still no interest in food. Every time they start looking better they end up getting worse again. I'm staying hopeful.

I hope things get better

They're eating! A lot! The ones eye is still messed up, but other than that they both seem much better.

Excellent!!! Hopefully they'll make a full recovery.
