Ouch, strike 3!

Well, 3 years now with no grayband, not complainin', well maybe a little, but they were being bagged in front and behind us a few nights in a row, lol! First Roy E. tells me he bagged one upon passing Zee and I in Langtry Thursday night, then alterna 63, Wayne cruises by doing the alterna dance in his truck yellin' the sex, time and temp of his catch near Langtry! Then I hear of Shannon's catch Sunday morning down the road, and Roy bags 2 in the rain coming home behind us from the Gap! Also heard a few were caught on 277 later in the week. The alterna were out, that was for sure, saw a few bulls, a gopher, some checkered garters, some viridus, many atrox, some ground snakes, a Hypsiglena, several southwestern rats,a longnose, a blonde tarantula, a few centipedes, tons of regular tarantulas and millipedes, a Tantilla nigriceps, and a yellow mud turtle, along with several different lizards. I guess it is back for July then! Good luck all!

Don't worry Todd, that's how it can be sometimes. I can remember a few years ago when a buddy of mine and I were walking the s-curves on Juno when a guy drove up and abruptly stopped right in front of us. He got out and ran to the front of his car and picking up a sweet looking alterna phase female. Boy, was I upset. Frustrating? Yes, but more the reason to keep coming out time and time again.
I'll be out this next week, hope to see you around.

No worries, mate! It was fun, exhausting, and great to see a wide variety, and yes I'll be back!

I know exactly how you feel It took me 7 years and 8 trips to catch my first Alterna. Hollister would tell people to hunt in front of me or behind me if they wanted to find a snake LOL! I put in 70 nights at Langtry of all places, and could not find an Alterna. (I think that is a bad luck record for Langtry but im not sure) Thank God that dry streak didn't last any longer. Last year I struck out for the first time in 12 years. Cant win em all. You will have better luck next time.

Going to be down there this weekend. I been collecting for 21 yrs. have yet to find one. I was determined to find one AOR but it never happened. I finally broke down and realized my only chance was to shine the cuts. I've only been hitting it real hard the last 5 yrs., Shining cuts that is and still have no luck. I will try again and again till I find my "UNICORN". I'll be in a green Z71 around Sanderson, stop by and say ha! I guess Sanderson would be as good as any, Maybe 277 would be better. What do yall think? I have shined them all.
