enclosure for jcp

spooky326 Jun 15, 2007 01:03 AM

i am looking to purchase a jungle carpet python here this fall and i was curious if thissize tank would be a good size for an adult jcp. the tank size is 36 x 18 x 25 it is a 70 gal tall terrarium. i know that a baby would need something smaller to feel safe and i have that but i wanted to know if this size would be good foe him/her. it will have 2-3 hide boxes for it, one on the bottom, one or two in the middle.

Plenty big for an adult. I even started my babys in that size tank. Just fed them a little moore for all the extra exercise they were getting. I have had 2 JCPs grow up in there cages they will live in the rest of there lives and I never had a problem with one. These don't seem to be snakes that get very shy. They actually like the room to climb around. Just my experience.

The cage I built is around 40”X30”X30” she has plenty of places to climb on and a hide box as well. I would say the size you are looking at is good.
