Not at the same time, but related none the less.
So, i'm going out to the desert for the weekend, and then to Vancouver for 10 days after that, and was showing my household how to take care of the animals, because they're going to be fed.
I was feeding my 3-4 month old crestie, and he jumped for a cricket, hit the side of the cage, and his nose welled up with what looked to me like blood (and I can only assume it was.) Now, I know crickets don't bleed, so has anyone ever had their gecko start bleeding after hitting the side of the cage? It's pretty common practice for him, and i've never seen him bleed before. He licked up the little well of blood, and licked his nose two times, and then nothing. The blood was gone. It's like he popped a blood vessel, but it didn't actively bleed, which I thought was wierd.
Also, his last two bowel movements have only been urates. I have him on a half glass, half planted bottom, and i've never seen him eat any substrate but it is fully possible (of course) that he has. Could this only poop and no urates be because he is blocked up? He eats 6-10 small crickets a night, so it couldn't be a lack of food. Any suggestions?
I was thinking of moving him to a new 10g when I get home of just paper towels until I see him poop. Do you guys think this would be too stressful since he's already gotten used to his new habitat?
Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
