feeder mice with skin problem

goregrind Jun 15, 2007 04:43 AM

i went to the petstore yesterday to pick up a fish for the garter and a mouse for the picky ball.

one of the tanks full of mice almost all were missing a clump of fur of thier rump, they wouldnt sell them (not even as food).

so i got one from another cage when i fed him to the ball i noticed it looked like he had a very small spot of fur missing.

anybody know what it could be?

think the petshop is just paranoid and they would make great feeders? i offered to "get rid of them" for cheap but they didnt want to get my snake sick.

I've seen this before in mice. What I witnessed personally was that, there was alot of adult males kept together and only a couple of females. All of the males had been chewed on by the dominant males. They were chasing each other around and biting each other on the rear. jeff
