To lobby the Governor for a veto????
Was final adjournment May 28, 2007??? The bill was sent to the Gov on May 30, 2007.

Governor's Action
http://www.house.state.tx.us/resources/bill2law.htm
Upon receiving a bill, the governor has 10 days in
which to sign the bill, veto it, or allow it to become
law without a signature. If the governor vetoes the
bill and the legislature is still in session, the bill
is returned to the house in which it originated with
an explanation of the governor's objections. A
two-thirds majority in each house is required to
override the veto. If the governor neither vetoes nor
signs the bill within 10 days, the bill becomes a law.
If a bill is sent to the governor within 10 days of
final adjournment, the governor has until 20 days
after final adjournment to sign the bill, veto it, or
allow it to become law without a signature.

Does HB12 become law after Sunday midnight unless there is a veto????

If he does not sign it, the bill becomes law anyway... I wish it were the other way around.

I will keep up the phone calls from my end, even though I have yet to speak with a human. I hope that whoever is checking those messages is passing them along as they should. If not the whole message then at least a summary of what they were with a count on how many oppose HB 12.

If this thing goes into effect I may make my efforts in Arizona until we get our exemption back..
