New Snake

run26neys Jun 15, 2007 10:49 AM

Yesterday my racks arrived, and today I received a new snake to start filling the racks.

This is a 100% het for Hypo male from the Darren Bell line. It is a 2006 baby, but a bit small as it was not overfed. The pic is awful, but the animal is in shed, so I only took a couple of pics before placing it in its moss box.

Very cool.. Congrats!!

Just out of curiousity.. Does anyone know of a breeding between an EBV Hypo and a Bell line hypo?? Just wondering if they mix w/ visual hypo results?

Wait a few years...

I know of one other person who has the animals, but I believe his Bell animal (full hypo) has never fully matured (and it is 8 to 10 years old). Thus, I will breed this male to my 100% het from Mike Lockwood.

Attempting to cross the Lockwood and Colling (Genesis) lines this fall. Plan on breeding my EBN male to Eve, the WC gravid female that produced this gem in her CB litter:

Eve

Eve's wild bred, captive born, striped hypo daughter Genevieve

Yeah.. it will be interesting to see what comes of that pairing Dave.. hopefully it works out - or atleast you can prove that the little gal is truely a genetic trait and not a result of something else..

I was just wondering if there were more then one actual form of Hypo in BRB's.. I know there are several examples of both hypo and albino animals in the snake world where there are more then one line that are not compatable within the species...

Only time will tell....and I'm anxious to find out about Eve....a whole nother year at least to sweat it out. And if she don't take, her babies'll be ready to go by then and then what to do???? Plenty of time to think about it.
