Just like clockwork...Day # 60

duffy Jun 15, 2007 03:31 PM

Came home from work today to find the first little head sticking out. I have 15 really nice looking eggs after 60 days, so I'm kinda excited. This is only my 2nd year breeding. Last year they pipped on day 57, so I was starting to get just a tad impatient. But this is great...Just in time for the weekend!

First off let me start by saying congrats and I hope you are snapping some photos of the pippers.

Also what temp do you incubate your eggs at?

Last year i opted to icubate at 85 degrees and only waited 49 days for some perfect little babies.

Temps were right around 80 most of the time. Can't wait to see how many of these good-lookin' eggs hatch out by tomorrow. Still only one pippie...The egg that was closest to the heat source. Duffy

I did 84 to 85 last year and was 55 days for good babies. This year, it is closer to 83, taking much longer!!

I feel your pain on the impatient part. Last year all my eggs pipped Before doy 60. Usually between 52-56. This year, they are taking More than 60 days. Really irritating.
Congrats on the pipps. It never seems to get old.

Last year, when I posted my excitement over my very first clutch, Jimmy (Draybar) told me that it never gets old also. That's good news, since it's still pretty darn cool. Duffy
