Just Got Back

alexdietrick Jun 15, 2007 03:46 PM

Spent 4 nights in W. Texas. Hunted River Road, Black Gap, and 118 looking for geckos. I didn't realize that the sun doesn't go down until 9:30 around there. It was frustrating and boring during the day. haha
Although I didn't find any reticulatus, I accidently found this snake while looking for them. Found on River Road on the Big Hill tuesday night around 11:30. Temp was 77. Sorry that I couldn't get a shot of it on the cut. I grabbed first. haha. I actually didn't come to TX with the intention of taking any snakes home, but I couldn't pass this one up.

Get a better photo and you might be in contention for alterna of the month with that beauty!

Congratulations.

Very nice!

Looks like I had the wrong plan last weekend. Norman and I went to the river last weekend in search of alterna and found a BB gecko. The streak continues.....over a 100 nights on the river over the last 13 years since my last alterna there... woe is me.

Congrats on your find.

I think I'm going to puke! "woe is me"!!! Everything you touch turns to gold, gator boy!!!! You might get some newbies to feel sorry for you but I know the whole story! Give me a call tommorrow if you can. Everytime I try to call you your out hunting or socializing. Your living "the good life" my friend.

P.S. To Mr Dietrich: Awesome looking Big Hill alterna. I give it a 9!! I believe thats the first River Road found since 2005. Figures a lizard hunter would find one! BA

No need to lose your lunch Bradford. My statement was said in jest and only referred to my lack of river road success since I found the 2 that night back in 94.

Your calling and golden statement are of course gross exaggerations, but yes, life is mostly good since moving here to Alpine 10 months or so ago.

I will try to fit calling you tomorrow in on my social calendar, but something more important might come up, so please don't sit next to the phone. If I happen to find something good tonight I will most certainly fit you in. LOL
