that my 2 year old boy will not be able to grow up collecting snakes from the roadway in tx. kills me. few experiences in life can provide the joy and adrenaline rush snake collecting has.

It saddens me as well, being a Scoutmaster and teaching the Reptile and Amphibian merit badge was one of the best ways to get the kids attention and to let them know it was ok to enjoy what Texas has to offer. Several of the requirements involved stalking frogs and toads to find out where they were chorusing from, collecting a herp to raise for a month and keeping the data, identifying in the field 10 herps, etc. All of this would be considered hunting, and thast is in the crapper. I guess the BSA just lost a merit badge. HMMMMMMMMMMMM, any one else with some BSA connections?
