Too much salt...possible?

Nicodemus Aug 17, 2003 07:17 AM

I've noticed that many frozen veggies have added salt. Would this be a problem?
I know uros have those nifty salt glands to remove excess salt, I just wanted to make sure they could handle a little more.

Or do you simply avoid frozen veggies with added salt completely?

Avoid frozen vegetables with added salt. Although the salt glands may seem to be removing a lot of salt, it really is not much compared to animals which produce urine. Desert lizard produce solid urates in order to save water and it does not allow them to clear as much salt out of their system.
