does it go into effect immediately? Or when the new licenses come out? Or the new fiscal year?

Yes, no, maybe so...OH MAN-I've been dying to do that to somebody-I just haven't found the occasion. Could be this isn't it either, but it's as close as I think I'm going to get . Seriously, I think you'll have the effective date for enforcement of Section 44 nailed down in a few days. I was in the "immediate" camp, but now I'm leaning toward Sept 1.

My guess, due to the currently issued license situation, is that they will use the time window until 9/1/07 to warn of the new law. Then they will try to enforce this ridiculously uneforceable law come the day after currently issued licenses expire, which of course is 9/1.

You are probably correct.

Damn, that's sure is a nice snake!

Daryl, maybe we can get together and meet in person some night for dinner down at the Starlight. Unfortunately it would probably have to be on a Friday or Saturday if I'm going to incorporate a night of hunting as I have to go to an office w/ 4 walls on an extremely regular schedule as opposed to your office & schedule. I sure like your office better, which is one of the main reasons for us moving to WesTexas.

BTW - I applaud your approach to a potential ticket and will be doing the same should it happen to me.

I'd love to meet you and do some herping. Like you said, my office and hours are very flexible. Call me and we'll connect up at your convenience.

Will do, but it may be a week or three.
