277 last night, not an alterna, but...

troy h Jun 16, 2007 02:18 PM

Found 1 blacktail at dusk, then (as the storms approached) this annulata on the west-facing radio tower cut at 12:14 a.m. It was racing along the cut. Adult female, needs to shed. I still need to find a male from there!

nice find, Troy. Good luck on pairing it. This is the second annulata from 277 I've heard of, definitely not common there.
I was rather hoping that the storm coming in from the north would get the alterna moving, as it had in the past.

ps, lost your phone nr, please email it to me again.

Well, its my 2nd 277 annulata . . . and the 2nd female.

I haven't gotten the reports from the other guys who were up there yet. Maybe they scored?

Boyd found one on a cut about half a mile N. of the rest area, I think it was a male, but it would probably be dead of old age by now.

Great find, Troy. Lot harder to find than alterna up there. In 1985 I met a guy from Canada who was hunting Loma Alta. He showed me 2 annulata he had found but couldn't find an alterna! Things have sure changed in the past 20 years.
I heard of 5 alterna picked up in Sanderson last night! Things were hoppin there! 3 of them after 2:00am. BA
