Squaretail Albino/Salmon/Pastels born

rigermany Jun 16, 2007 03:31 PM

today the first Squaretail-Pastel-Albino from the Original German Squaretail-Line from albinoboas.com is born.
The father is a nice DH Sunglow Sharp Strain and the mother is a Squaretail Pastel with outstanding coloration. We where very surprised: There is one SquaretailPastel Albino in the litter. What happens? Is the albino gene in our squaretail female? Here is the result of this breeding:

1 Squaretail Pastel Albino
6 Squaretail Pastel Hypo poss. Het Sharp Albino
13 Squaretail Pastel poss. Het Sharp Albino

We will post more pics of the babys after sheding.

Thanks for viewing
best regards from germany

Beautiful litter you got there. I guess the albino was definitely a welcome surprise! I may be wrong here but I always thought the squaretail gene was recessive? If the sire was not squaretail or het wouldn’t all the babies be het?

hi,
good work,
looks like your female is also het albino.

do you have some more pairings with siblings of the dam this season that you could proof to be het sharp albino too?
as well as the ratio of 1/19 on the albino is not very high, i think it would be a lot! of luck if the albino really just dropped by a fluke.

i hope we will get some pics of the albino after its shed.

best regards,
peer

(gerne gesehen sind auch bilder und berichte in deutschen foren um die morphe hier ein wenig bekannter zu machen )
