can anyone help with this - we have 16 eggs just laid 3 days ago - this is our first clutch and thought we had done everything right - placed the eggs in an incubator - temp is at 82 degrees and this morning about half the eggs have collasped or almost look dried out - thanks for your help

What is your humidity level? It needs to be rather high. The temps should be between 83 and 84 degrees. Sounds like it is too dry for them

Better yet, just let us know how exactly you have them set up in the incubator.... are they in tubs inside the incubator, are they just laying in the bottom, etc.

i agree with the last post. your substrate should be as wet as you can get it without water dripping out when you take a handful of it in your fist. you may need to mist some water around the eggs every few days to keep it moist enough depending on what type of incubator you use. make sure not to mist the eggs directly, just the substrate around them, i heard misting the eggs directly is bad. the eggs should be fine once they get some water back into them, they can tolerate being dehydrated for a few days.

Sounds definatly like you need more humidity, you may be able to bring them back by giving them a light spray. If you lay them on vermiculite this is good as it hold in moisture, I have a bowl of water on the bottom of my incubator too.
They may also wrinkle if they are infurtile.

Are they turning yellow?

Try adding some moisture and see if it helps.
