You should be able to put them with the male with little or no problem. It's a very diffrent situation putting snakes together, verses a snake being approached by a large human hand. Smells are diffrent, body heat, as well as phermones (I presume). I have had a few tempermental females, that had absolutely no problems being introduced with a male. I did keep an eye on them at the initial introduction, but all went well. Hope this helps.

I think there all close to breeding size now. What do I do. The male is a 03 or 04 kahl double het for snow. I have 2 mean females that came from r and r boas in 2004 jan. The one girl maybe is five feet the other is pushing six feet. I keep them in a boaphile rack and feed them rodentpro large rats weekly. I can't get a weight or exact size on them. I really hope to get a few snows out of them soon since I just wanted a snow back when I bought them. Anyway what do I do to breed them and when do I start? my male is huge about six feet. I would put them together anytime. I keep the warm end of the cage in the 90" and the cool end is in the 80's. Do I stop feeding them? I never bred boas cept by accident. Also my 05 albino male is doing great now.

Well, if the male is around 3-4ft I'd let him have a go at it. Your females ideally should be atleast 6ft. and have good body weight to them. You don't have to have an exact weight, but they should be well fed and thick. Your temps are about where you want them to be. Just keep them in the lower range.
As for breeding them, there are a number of diffrent prefrences as to cycling them and introduction. I haven't ever "cooled" my boas down. The way I was keeping them did allow for a slight natural temp drop during the cooler mouths however. I fed the females as normal, and the males I did feed about half the normal amount for a month before I'd put them in with the female. I got in to the habit of introducing them on Halloween or Thanksgiving Day
It usually meant babies from April to July.
This is what I found that worked for me. There are a lot of variables to breeding boas. The best thing to do is gather all the info that you can. Hope this helps. Best of luck at it.

The chances are slim youu would have any real problems but watch them carefully. There are known instances of an adult female boa tearing up and even killing male boas.
.
Here's a question for you.. why do you think your DH boas are so touchy?
.
Thanks and good luck.

My double hets came to me in 04 as little mean babies. Cept the male. I didnt handle them only for cleaning and now there still mean. You walk past the cage and they wack the wall. I keep them out of peoples view and let them have there peace. I want to breed them a couple times and give them away. My wife laid down the law last week and I need to get rid of the mean animals including the african pair of wildcats. Whats bad is my 17ft retic is friendly and my five foot female boas are as mean as day
