Question about hatchlings and eggs

Daniel J Aug 17, 2003 08:19 AM

My giant hognose egg started hatching friday afternoon. As of right not, sunday morning, it is still in the egg. This morning I have so far not seen any movement. This is my first egg ever, so I don't really know what's normal. I had a total of three eggs, but two were infertile. I can see the little guy in the egg, but I'm not sure if he's ok. How long do they usually take to get out of the egg? Should I be worried, or when should I start to worry?

Here's the lone hatchling from my Malagasy giant hognose's first clutch. Hatched on day 63 at a temperature of a constant 82.

Friday, he slit the egg and chilled for two days.

Today, Sunday, he finally came out.
Notice the little hood. He's showing attitude already

How's he looking?
