Chipola River kings

CrimsonKing Jun 16, 2007 10:25 PM

Whatever you may call them, goini, meansi,
Apalachicola lowlands, Chipola R. (I kinda like that one),panhandle kings, etc.,
there's an up-and-down interest it seems...
Some years there's a lot of activity and interest and others none to speak of. I wonder why?
Normally not too colorful as adults and often very drab, they're still not quite understood, are they?
I'm hoping to see just what pops out this year..
Anyone with clutches or hatchlings yet??

I think there’s a few cool things coming, but it’s early yet. Perhaps the very coolest won’t be revealed for another couple of years... I think the best projects in Goini are breeding for the patternless trait into other things like patternless ghost, patternless sulpher, basically all crosses and some still hoping for something with an actual RED color. I do consider the patternless the only thing worthy of a special name, be it Goini, Means or whatever.

But here are some from a few months ago. Gotta love the color!

I love what you are doing with them. That’s hypo Brooks and patternless Goini? Please post an updated picture (every week or so would be o.k. with me!) You may be onto something for these to retain that orange into adulthood. Sooner or later...

Last year sure was a Yr for Goini Kings!

All attention was on them on the forums... i had some nice ones hacth out and they were practically sold within days of hatching

This season i bred my patternless male to a Hi-red female from Brandon Osborne... It will be interesting to see what the hatchling look like (female due to lay any day now)...

Then

Now

Breeding
