I've seen a cross between a sulfurish Hillsborough king and a typical dark Pinellas king, and it was dark like a Pinellas king, but the cross bands were a strong yellow, like the Hillsborough king.

It'd be interesting to see what kind of variation you get in that clutch.

i am hoping for RED bands ,sulpher and het Lav.still wondering what the lav gene will transpire that black, in the coming generations?a prime case for selective line breeding of the outcross

Chris,

I outbred the sulfur lav before to a BHB anerythritic het for snow. The sulfur yellow gene is very dominant. You can see this in one of Zennys lavenders (maybe he can post a pic?)which he has posted on here as being half sulfur lav. Really the yellow sulfur lavs are already 50% sulfur and the ones Zenny has is 25% sulfur. Interesting to note that the sulfur yellows and oranges maintain even though washed down.

first how can i carry your paragraph to this post.Q?
i dont follow what you are saying except the sulfer carries over pretty strong to offspring.
i also bred the sulfer lav to a fem Lav from Tim and he said it was double bred to either a snow glossy or lav.so those results will be interesting.
do you recall the parents of the one(sulfer Lav.) you sent me a while back in 04

That sulfur lav you have from me in '04 is the first sulfur lav from sulfur lav parents.

Oh I also bred the sulur lav to a extreme lav female this year. Waiting on eggs to drop from her any day. It will be interesting to see what those will look like as my extreme female is VERY red.

LOTS of fun this year with producing all sorts of new brooksi
