rdude110 Jun 18, 2007 06:31 AM

This summer i was planning of getting either a BRB or a JCP and i had chose JCP but then i looked at some pics of my friends BRB in the light and i knew i had to get one. My Q is do they hide alot and are they boring like leopard geckos, comumbians and AFTS

Also how are they about climbing

I put mine in a 10gl with cypress mulch and all it does is hide, just give it a cage with newspaper or something and a regular hide and it's moss box and see what happens, i find them to be shy creatures, maybe it will change as they get older. I also don't like hiding snakes.

I have both BRB's and JCPs - They both do hide a bit, but the BRB's do hide more. They are both active at night, and usually only when they need to thermoregulate - or when they are hungry.

I only have one BRB, so I can't really say much about the species overall, but from my observations, they are very shy snakes. Most snakes in general are not very active during the day...that's why I love my ATB, he stays out during the day, and hides mostly at night! A lot of times, no matter what time of day, my corn snakes will all come out of hiding when I go into the room. But if I go in at night and the BRB is out, she will quickly go hide again; so they don't really make a good "display" snake, but they make up for it when you get them out and get to see how beautiful they are
