cancel trip?

westtexas Jun 18, 2007 12:15 PM

i have a buddy coming sept. 9th from out of state to go herping with me in big bend. he has submitted his leave request already and is very concerned about getting a ticket/custody arrest due to this new law. he says he will cancel his trip. with all of the ambiguity currently surrounding this law, does anyone have any insight as to when this law will actually go into effect/be enforced? he kind of needs to know soon whether or not he should cancel his vacation request. i know this may be hard to answer, and may have been asked already without any absolutes, but any insight would be appreciated.

Don't take any collecting paraphenalia, just a camera, and you ought to be fine . . . alternatively, you could use the intervening time to line up some private land. The Woodward Ranch South of Alpine lets folks rockhound all over their property, my guess is that they'd likely be amenable to herping.

I know for a fact that Louise will let herpers on her land if they are staying at the "Station."
