Question on feeding east hogs/supplement

reptile_man7mm Jun 18, 2007 05:01 PM

I picked up a young pair of east hogs this weekend. Ill post pics later. Ive got these girls eating about 1in cricket frogs for now. Im waiting on pinks to drop from my breeders. I know all the methods of trial and error with switching, as i have been that route before. My question is while there still on amphibians, is it recommended to dust with a calcium powder on the frogs? I have some reptivite, and some other pure calcium powders we use for our geckos.. just curious.

thanks

Must admit, that I cant se why you should? They dont get the food "powdered" in nature, so i cant se why you should do it in captivity

The frogs have a skeleton that would be roughly equivalent of a same-size mouse- right? So I don't see why you'd need to...

Lucky, I envy you having an Eastern that eats. Both of you.

Lovely pair! Where did you find them?

reptile_man7mm Jun 21, 2007 07:39 PM

Thanks all..

I bought them from glades herp at the columbia reptile show last week. They were captive hatched from a high orange wc female.
