This mornings suprising litter...

Fourquet Jun 18, 2007 05:38 PM

I woke up and got a sweet whiff of the "egg-fart" smell we love so much. I imediatly knew who it was and I was greeted by 35 het albinos, an angry momma and to my delight 2 albinos! Sadly one of them is deformed and will be put down. To make it worse it was a paradox...

But on an exciting note, the FREE big girl that I bred just to breed is a het albino and has secured herself in future projects! I just hope the genetic gods are a bit kinder next time around!

Good on ya, Mike! You gotta love the smell of babies in the morning. I wish that paradox would have come out healthy, that's a shame. I would have to say that you had great results none the less.

Thats awesome Mike. Talk about getting a nice surprise. The big batch of healthy hets aren't too shabby either.

Congratulations on a great litter and also on the healthy albino. Can I assume you bred the female to a het albino male? The reason I ask is simply that the ratio is really unusual. Given the genetic gods that govern all of this, anything is possible.
Congrats again,
Warren

The fater was actually an albino. Its ironic that I can be so lucky with the mother being a het, but so unlucky with the odds! Im confident that she will do better on the next roll of the dice, and Ill be sending her more mental messages.
