Plastic cage pedestals

EricWI Jun 18, 2007 07:27 PM

Does anyone know what would make the most suitable pedestal for plastic cages 18" or so off the floor?

You mean, like wood? Wood is good. Plwood box, melamine box, all suitable and better than 1x2's or 2x2's for example.

Take a look at aquarium stands for ideas, even though they are more elaborate than you will need.

I use cinder blocks. They're super cheap. One on each corner, plus they allow you to see underneath and behind if you get an escapee. Bigger solid type stands obscure your vision if you're hunting a snake on the floor.
If needed, put a piece of styrofoam, or small block of wood between the concrete and the tank so you dont scratch the plastic.
