found this lil guy on mu front porch and was curious what it is.... I'm located in southern alabama (fairhope to be exact)

its a very NON-venomous water snake. they will bite if you harrass them, but the worse is the musk they release if picked up. So wear gloves if you decide to handle it! Good job not killing it.

wasn't too sure what kind it was.. lil guy actually slithered into my house when i had the front door open, turned around, an went back outside (thankfully). Didn't realize water snakes would be around this area considering i'm in the country side with no rivers / streams, etc near by..
