I was watching 'From Dusk til Dawn' last night(ick!) and I noticed that all of the movies and media that have women dancing with snakes they are always using an albino burmese python, example: salma hayek, britney spears etc. why do they chose an albino burmese python all the time? Are albino burms somehow considered more phallic than ALL of the other snakes?(I am assuming that is the aim of these dances, judging from the style of dancing) Is it cuz burms are big, yet calm, then why specifically albinos?

i feel tho i could be very very wrong that
1) the burm is known for them to be generaly more docile and 10' or so are generaly very very availble on demand for something like that
2) albino burms correct me if i am wrong was the first albino and is only large albino constrictor in the general publics eye and local pet store that may carry snakes (not talkin about bigger reptile shops pet store)
3) the price of albino burm is quite low so between the low price apeal of albino at a low price readily available at any size and known for bein a "tame" big snake well it all adds up
im sure there is more reason and better ones and im sure i am wrong on some of this but this is how i feel about it

...Low price and very available like Tim says. They are not tamer or easier to handle than normal Burms. They look more exotic to non snake people and probably show up better in filming situations. I personally like normal Burms much more than albinos. Albinos are pretty until they get big and then they are just the color of plain old chicken fat. Albino Boa Constrictors have the same problem but to a lesser extent.

hahaha chicken fat! ur right I never liked the look of albinos. I think leucastics r pretty but they seem to have a blue tint to them instead of a red or yellow hue.
