Is anyone currently working with these ? and could you point me in the direction of where I get my hands on a CB or CBB specimen?

Hello OT,
I don't know of any cb babies around right now, but Stan has a trio on the classifieds right now - they are cb adults and are priced right... Best to you- Mike

Stans are 2nd generation I was there when they hatched. They are proven I saw them a few weeks ago when i went to visit him.I can't believe he's getting rid of them.I'll have to call him.I know he wants to concentrate on his dog training.I know he's selling his collection of snakes also.Lots of balls and retics.
Good luck

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I wanted to see if there was anything out there before making a decision. Anyways, Robyn, point taken. I assumed the biggest dilema would be to provide an adequte arboreal enclosure for a croc vs. a "regular" (if you can call it that) for a water monitor.

Robyn- do you know of any cbb waters around? I know you guys have some great ones- I have one! Is what you have listed all that is available at the time? any particular docile ones? A1 seems to be quite a little looker. I hardly remember when mine was that small.

Thanks again for your responses.

we do have some great Waters now, and A1 is SEEE-MOKIN, but those are not u.s. captive bred : )

the only somewhat regular u.s.c.b. Waters i know of are from Tony Alles (sp?) and are advertised here on kingsnake once in a great while.

NERD and Brian Sharp have also had some success with hatching hets from their Albino Water lines...

Man A1 looks nicer to me than sup2 or sup3. Of course you have more experience picking the best potential with more experience understanding where they tend to lead color wise when they mature...and you also factor in temperament, etc...but wow A1 blows them all away with respect to pattern and color imho. Nice stuff as always Robyn.

Sumatran Water babies are tricky. the colors do not start to bloom until they reach over a foot SVL. at this size, everything is still very muted.

in my experience, those Superstar (S labels) animals will be more visually spectacular as adults than even the A's.

at that really high level, the differences are minimal and subtle, but folks always ask me to rank and grade them, so i do. and the Superstar animals are the ones that i feel are truly the best of the bunch (based entirely on my own preferences for high color and pattern : )

GO for it! Only YOU know your limitations and if you can handle a monitor of this proportions. Do not base your decision on what others say. Do your research and purchase cb/cbb if possible.

But please, please, please.........promise to post pictures when you get tagged. Those are awesome pics, only second probably to shark bite pics. Scroll down to the post about niles and you'll see a good pic and Robyn has some good pics on the PE site.

Good luck!
