Juvi Black Rat from my yard...

Guttersnacks Jun 19, 2007 05:52 PM

A trend is forming that in the evening after taking a shower, when I'm still getting dressed if I peer out a window, I spot a snake. A week ago it was a huge eastern kingsnake. Today, this little bugger....
He was on the move and I was partially clothed so I had to scramble and grab whatever was nearby. Since he's all toasty, he was a bit fired up too.
Yorktown Virginia. It was 94* outside today, but the sun is gone now....

Hi Tom,

Great looking snake. Was it a male or female? My York Co. female that you rescued dropped her second clutch of eggs yesterday. There were 11 eggs in the second clutch, but four of them were duds. I already have a clutch of thirteen eggs cooking that should pip around the 4th of July.

Did you get any eggs from the mating of that female you found this spring and your male amel?

This little guy is a male, want it?

The female I paired with my amel isnt showing any signs of eggs right now. She eats a medium sized rat and it doesnt show after 2 days, I'm worried it might be either parasites or young egg development. I'm not necessarily jazzed about either.

Hehehe, I agree, that IS funny.

As to whether I shower once a week, if it means I'll catch a snake in my front yard every Tuesday, I'll consider it
