woo figured out the humidity

mriswith Jun 19, 2007 06:49 PM

I got the humidity upto 85-90 range across the cage by adding a couple ultrasonic misters to the water feature. so far so good I am happy about the humidity and I think the plants in there will like it I know the monitor will he ate 2 more pinkys today it there such a thing as over feeding a baby?? I know it will not eat enough to cause itself damage and is skinny but should I be feeding him till he dosen't want any more or should I be feeding a more set amount and if so how much is good for a little one like this( about 13 inches nose to tail)?? he seems alot compaired to the timors which are the same length and only eat a single large pinky a day. I know I am asking alot of question but I want to do what is best for the little one and this is one of the best ways I know to get more info.

I have a small water about the size you mentioned, maybe a bit larger. It eats four or five pinks and 1 or 2 fuzzies a day. It does not get fat as it has access to a thermal gradient of 77-95 and basking areas of 125-140. If you have these kinds of temps, along with plenty of room to move about, in your cage, the little critter will metabolize the nutrients quickly, grow quickly and will not become obese.
