What would you do with??

bpfreak Jun 19, 2007 11:23 PM

What would you do with $1800 to spend on bp morphs? All opinions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What morphs do you like? What do you already have? If you already have certain animals, then the answer will be different than if you have a lone normal female and nothing else.

I forgot to add what else i'm already working with.... female lemon pastel, female albino and normals.
Thanks

Male Spider ($750) to make some bumble bees
You could also make spiders het. Albino

Or a male lemon pastel to make super lemons
That'll only run you $250-350.

Or maybe a male black pastel to make some pewters.

But those are just what I like, so...

... female recessives.
personally i would get a female ghost
or a couple of het pied females or het clown females

then in the future id buy a homo male recessive to breed
or maybe even a really nice co-dom like a butter or a fire

but that is just me. and i wish i had that game plan since the begining.

After I posted that, a friend said he saw pairs for 5k, so I guess males are $1800.00. It sure surprised me.

With 1800 i am pretty sure you could talk to a breeder that will have a good amount available and get a package deal. A combination of Mojave, Spider , Cinnamon or pastels could probally be done in and around that price range. That could jump start pewter projects, bumble bees, super pastels, and alot more. Plus if you do everything with one breeder they may throw in an adult 100% het albino male and you could make albinos too... Good luck with everything. Buy what you like and you wont ever regret it, unless your like me and love every morph then get what you like the most at the time

You should send it to your long lost bro....Me!...lol

Well, just buy what you like to look at....don't let money be a factor...and really the decission should come from you....Good luck!

I only charge $399.95 for this consultation....

Well my ultimate goal is to get ahold recessives.... but the one i really wanna make would be both the g-stripe orange ghost(also a caramel pied would be to die for) and the ghost bumblebee.... i do love the ghosts... maybe that's the best way. But i dont know if working with hets would be the most economical right now as i could make more simple morphs like the bumblebee and make some cash to get ahold of those recessives in the same time or shorter that it would take to breed hets....
Let me know what you guys think...
its greatly appreciated!

your own question. You want Hypos obviously. And it looks like a Hypo Spider is also high on your list.

Yes, you could get a Spider, make your Bumblebees and maybe get a Hypo or two quicker than you could raise up the hets. BUT you would still have to raise up your Hypos... the hets. would be over half way there by that time.

My advice (based on what you've written): Look around for a Spider het. Hypo and buy a het. Hypo mate for him. You can produce all the Spiders, Bumblebees and Albino hets. you want until his mate gets big enough. In the meantime, every animal you hatch will also be 50% poss. Het. Hypo...giving you MORE possibilities than you originally planned on.

This sounds like the best route imo.

With Het breeders, comes POSSIBLE Het offspring, which are difficult at best to sell. Identify your end goal, whether it is a Bumblebee, Hypo Bumblebee, etc., and realize that unless you have all of NERDS snakes, it will take awhile to get there. That is not a bad thing! Getting there is half the fun. I would buy a Ghost male, Het Ghost female or three, and a couple of Spider females, maybe a Pastel female or Pastel male. Ghost x Het Ghosts will give you some Ghosts, and Het Ghosts. Breed the Ghost male to your Spider females, or a Ghost x Spider and Pastel X Spider....

windstorm757 Jun 20, 2007 05:48 PM

I would buy....
A Sub-Adult 100% Het Clown Female
A Normal Adult Female
& a reallt nice Pastel Male

Shoot for Pastels, and Pastel Clowns(eventually...lol). But that's me.

Or my second options would be:
100% Het Pied Male 600 grm
and a Yearling or so Mohave Female

Shoot for Mohave 50% Het Pied & Mohave Pied(in a few years lol)

j3nnay Jun 20, 2007 09:26 PM

The nicest spider I could find for that price. :D Or maybe a couple het pieds, a pastel, and a mojave.
