Here's a couple of pages of reading from a well respected breeder. The only changes I would recommend to their instructions are that play sand should not be used until dragons are 12" or so long and that the starter size tank for a baby should be no less than a 20 Long 12 x 30 x 12" high.

Here is a good web address for greens and vegs.

Hey jonny, recognize you from the cham board, I just got my first beardie and am also trying to absorb as much info as I can. Good luck on getting your home for your beardie set up.

hey guys,
thanks for the replies..the articles will help alot..i've been wanting a beardy for awhile but i had my cham taking up alot of time since he was my first reptile ever owned..things have been going really good with him and i think i'd be ready for the beardy too since they don't need as much care or money..haha..how active are they compared to my chameleon do you think longhorn??my cham. is always moving around his cage, hes got to be one of the most active chameleons(he would prove the theory that nosy be panthers are the most active)..well i better get to researching again, which is what i think made me such a good care taker of my cham..alot of people thought it was a bad idea that i got a cham for first reptile too,so check out his pics and see if you agree with me that i proved them wrong

Jonny, my first reptile to own was also a cham. Definately prepared my for care of other types as chams seem to be one of the higher maintenance reptiles. I would say that both are about equally active, although my beardie is alot more active during feeding, he runs around and nabs any cricket he sees. As my cham usually just sits in a spot and waits for her food to come to her and ambushes it. Be ready to go through a lot of crickets for your beardie in its young age as I have read that they tend to eat quite alot. (I just ordered my first 1000 crickets online)
